Intensity Pro Hangs Mac (FCP 7)
Hi, I have been using an Intensity Pro to monitor video in FCP but it is causing Mac to hang. Seems to happen every few hours. I can edit for days without problems in I don’t use Intensity Pro for preview.
I am using the latest drivers (published a few days ago) but it happened with alder drivers also.
Any Ideas,

Are the latest drivers for FCP7 or FCPX? FCP7 on Lion will eventually break and it is probably third party cards and drivers that will show the strain first.

No solution as such, you do need to un-install older drivers before installing any new ones (uninstaller included in driver download). I have a similar system to you and never had/get any problems with my Intensity Pro, it’s used for HD and component monitoring and occasional input via composite or S. It is a clean machine – OS 10.7.4, FCS3 and a few other video/audio/photo progs and no permanent internet connection. (Not too far from you if you want to chat).

Do you mean am I using the latest version of FCP 7, I have not come across FCP 7 drivers as such.

Current software/drivers will only install if you have the correct firmware. I don’t recall having to update FW for the past few versions of SW.

Thanks, had a look at site and the FW updates are built into Driver update.

Not sure about Decklink as I am using a Kona, but Kona has different drivers for FCPX to FCP7 so I was suggesting you make sure you have the correct Decklink drivers for your combination of OS and FCP.
