  Stills in Video 5d FCP7

  Hi-

  I’m about to embark on a project using stills to create a cinema film.I am considering editing in final cut (as this is what I’m familiar with).
  I will zoom, pan and use a fair amount of motion. Voiceover. Music.
  The film will eventually be shown at film festivals.

  The stills I am using are all in RAW format shot on a canon 5d.There will be about 300-500 stills. Can anyone recommend the best settings to set up the final cut pro project and sequence? IS Final Cut the best to use for this kind of thing?

  For working with stills you better use Motion or AE.

  Best quality codec is likely ProRes… if the stills have a lot of detail in them (like grass, trees, etc. then choose ProRes HQ – if not, ProRes 422 will look the same as HQ. Probably should choose a 1080 30p size and frame rate. 24 will not look as good on moves IMHO.
