(Apologies if this has been posted previously)

    Hello guys,

I’m having minor issues syncing my video and audio on a 25fps timeline.

I converted the rushes from H.264 to Apple Pro Res 422 at 25fps and Mpeg streamclipped the audio to 48khz to match the editing timebase.

Although the audio is synced from the first frame, by 3 minutes in it is about 5 frames out.

Any suggestions on why this might happen would be very helpful.

    Thanks, Liam

Probably because your audio was recorded with a different fps than your video.

    Thanks Daniel,

Turns out the the way to fix this issue is once the audio is in your timeline, simply slow the audio down slightly. Hit Command J, and enter 99.9% and clicking “OK”. The audio and image should match.

The downside to this is the pitch of the audio will be changed, but to me it is totally unnoticeable.

Liam, this issue gets posted about very frequently. Follow the second half of my tutorial to import your audio the correct way and avoid this problem.

Changing the speed of your clips may work, but you are really just treating the symptoms instead of solving the root problem.
