ProRes (HQ) Trillions of colors?
Anyone know how to enable ProRes (HQ) to render in trillions?

I can get it to render ProResHQ, that’s not a problem, i just need to add to the adobe XML file to allow ProresHQ to render in trillions of colors/16bit. That way I can get a 10bit render out of AE to ProresHQ. So far, it’s just letting me render to millions. The XML file doesn’t seem to change anything from within AE and I have also tried modifying the preferences with no luck either.

Sheesh, I hope not. It was a simple text modification to get the capability with Apple’s 10bit codec, hope it’ll be the same with ProRes.

I don’t think that it’s incompatible, it’s just that Adobe didn’t have the proper code to write as ProRes wasn’t available yet.
Hopefully some sort of update will fix this. Supposedly updating the adobe xml file SHOULD work but it’s not working so I fret and frown.

Hmm, after all that rigamarole it appears after updating to AE 8.0.1 a fresh preference trash was in order. Nothing needs to modified or written in.
Boy do I feel like I numbnut.
