  Exporting 8 discreet MONO audio tracks from FCP6

  Hi Everyone,

  I’m still using FCP6, it’s always worked so never saw a need to upgrade to 7, or X for that matter. Probably doesnt affect my question, but it might. Basically, I have an FCP timeline with 8 discreet channels of audio, and I want to export an uncompressed quicktime (Apple ProRes422) with the exact same 8 discreet channels, but it doesnt seem to be working. I changed my audio output settings to output 8 channels, which it does, but right now it’s taking my 8 channels, condensing them into stereo L & R onto channels 1 & 2, and my channels 3-8 are totally empty. Does anyone know how I can export 8 discreet channels of audio from FCP?

  You have to patch each track to a specific output. Right mouse near the lock icon in each track and it brings up a small patch dialog.
