  • Can’t Change Device Control Presets in Audio/Video Settings

    Hi guys,

I’m trying to capture video from a VHS tape. My capture settings are correct but when I go to capture it just says “Waiting for timecode”. I’ve read that to get this to work you need to change the device control presets. So I went in and I can’t change from FireWire PAL to anything. Does anybody have any idea about what’s going on with this?

    Thank you for reading.

    Best,

    Bob

Change it to “non controllable device”, and hit play on the VHS machine, then capture now in the log and capture window. You’re using no Timecode so that’s the way FCP will ignore it.
