Whatever settings I use in FCP, the output is very bad. I need to burn a DVD – done every export option and codec possible from FCP, maximum settings in Compressor but still the video looks compressed.

The original footage is MXF DVCPRO 50, 720×576 to be output as 1024×576.
Am I doing something wrong in Easy Setup?

    Thanks

Export a self contained Quicktime Movie…do not recompress. Bring into Compressor…choose the BEST QUALITY DVD setting, do not modify any setting. Take the result to DVD SP…author the DVD. That’s the best way to do it with FCS.

Wait…what? Why those dimensions? 1024? That could be your problem…

What are your settings exactly? HD (720)? Or SD anamorphic 1024×576?

SD anamorphic is 720 x 576. This is what you need on a DVD.

You only make 1024 x 576 when you want a 16:9 square pixel file for viewing on a computer. Never for DVD.
