    FCP 7.0.3. Mac OS X.
    One clip is 720p. The other is shot 1080i but uploaded in SD. If I set the timeline Field Dominance to None, one is at its clearest but the other not. If I set it to Upper, I get the opposite. I’ve tried various combos of Field Dominance and filters and can’t get both to look clear. Any suggestions?

    When you say the 1080i is uploaded in SD what do you mean?

    We shot it in 1080i but when I upload I choose to downgrade to standard def for two reasons;
    1-save space,
    2-none of our stations is requiring us to send HD programming.

    have you tried making the 1080i a 720 by using a 720 timeline with no field dominance and then compressing to SD?
