  Speeding up Clips

  I’m trying to edit together a small 1 min video for my boss of a new piece of machinery he received at his shop. I put it to quirky music and sped up the clips because I am trying to make it look like it was filmed on one of those old crank film cameras from back in like the 1920’s. Most of the clips are at between 200% and 300% , but it doesn’t quite look right. Does anyone have any suggestion on what speed I should use to get this effect?

  Well, those were typically shot 18fps, and projected back at 24fps. So the speed change is small…like 25%…so 125%. Play with smaller percentages.

  Well, that is far to high, try once a setting somewhere between 120-140%.
  Besides, what sells the shot is not only the speed, but the look: Desaturate, Put Sepia Tint, scratches, dirt, make the picture wiggle and jump…then it will look more like20s footage.
