  importing footage from Camera Sony HDR-UX5

  I am trying to log and transfer footage from a clients sony hdr-ux5. my computer wont even recognize the camera thru the USB. any suggestions?

  As far as I know that camera records to DVD ?
  Which version of FCP are you using ? I know that FCP 6 had only very limited support for AVCHD and could not import from DVD.

  If you have FCP 7 then you stand more of a chance – Shane Ross did a nice tutorial here
