  FCP Studio Timeline / Canvas playback slow

  When playing any clip in the canvas from the timeline the audio of the clip plays at the correct speed, however the video of that clip plays slower. (like it can’t catch up). This goes for my current sequence and all other clips when i create a new sequence.

  When i play the clip in the viewer it plays at the correct speed…

  I have tried restarting FCP, and rebooting my iMac

  Has anyone come across this before ?

  It sounds like perhaps your sequence settings are different to your source material.

  What format/codec is your source and what kind of drives are you using for the media ?

  The problem was the size of my Canvas window.
