Installing final cut 6 and 7 same machine?
Posted by Steve Cohen on December 12, 2011 at 8:09 pmI believe I’ve read this before, but I can’t find it now.
Is it possible to install final cut 6 and 7 same machine?
Is it as simple as creating a different folder for FCP7 during the install process? Thanks.

December 12, 2011 at 8:30 pmI wouldn’t. Different partitions/OS drives. That’s what I do.

December 12, 2011 at 8:53 pmI wholeheartedly agree with Shane.
You might want to look at my Cow tutorial about setting up partitions for X and Lion. It will apply to FCP 6 and 7 as well.

Don’t go there!
Different partitions is the way to go.Sascha

December 12, 2011 at 9:48 pmThanks guys.
David I know how to set up partitions and do separate installs, but I though it was in another post by you that I read you could have both on the same partition.
Maybe I’m confusing it with the partitioning for FCP 7 and X article that you wrote. I’ve got a major head cold today and the brain is a little foggy.
Thanks again everyone.
