  bring in audio clip

  Hi, I’m trying to bring in a audio clip from a digital voice recorder. It’s a WMA clip that is 2 hours and 30 minutes long. I try importing it and FCP only brings in 38 minutes of it??? can’t figure it out. I’m working on FCP 3. I’m working on a iMac 10.5.8/2G core Duo.

  Thanks in advance! Also, when i did bring inthe 38 minutes that i could, it wanted to render all the audio…any work arounds?

  Final Cut is not compatible with WMA files. It needs to be converted to a standard WAV or AIF file. You’ll probably need to do this on a PC. I’m not aware of a Mac tool that converts WMA files, but perhaps there is one.

  From memory Flip4Mac allows Windows media files to be converted. Make sure the audio is wav or aif, 16 bit 48khz as FCP doesn’t properly handle anything but uncompressed audio with that sample rate. Also make sure the sequence is set to 48khz.
