Audio still popping in FCP 7 after I’ve converted the files into AIF
While editing a short film of mine, I came across a part of the timeline where the audio begins to pop. It would then proceed to take over my speakers and force me to restart the computer in order to get things back to normal. I looked on one of the forums here and I saw that the answer was to convert all of the Audio files into AIF files. It seemed to work, except now it gets to a different point in the timeline and starts doing the same thing (only difference is that it no longer takes over my speakers, it just seems to be an issue with that section of the audio track).
Please help! This film has to be finished by November 22nd!

What do you mean when you say it “takes over my speakers”?
Does the audio “pop” at edit points or randomly throughout a single clip?
AIFF at 48K?
What are the audio settings of your timeline?

What I mean by “it takes over my speakers” is that anything with audio becomes mute and when I hit the volume buttons on my keyboard (I have a macbook pro) it makes the same popping noises. It also just randomly makes the popping noises.
Randomly throughout a single clip.
Yeah the AIFF file is at 48K
The Sequence and Capture Presets are both at DV NTSC 48 kHz

Popping, not beeping, right? Have you rendered all audio (option-command-r)?

It starts as just popping and then it starts to repeat a certain sound of the track (a screen door being pushed) and then it stops repeating and just goes into loud popping (and beeping I guess). I’m sorry that I didn’t mention this part in my original post.

Go into your FCP User prefs and change your audio playback quality to low. Minimize the number of audio tracks you have playing at one time on your timeline, render your audio (have you added effects to your audio?).
