  Newby needs to share out FCP record/edit window in real-time…

  I am starting a week long video for a producer in Portland and I’m in Seattle. She says ” Oh the last editor would share his desktop so we could review real time” and she wants me to do the same. I “think” that guy used Sling Box but I just want to know is there any cheap / easy / reliable way to share your desktop video? I don’t need to give control just an active window. I googled and am coming up short but I may just be goolgine the wrong thing. I know local telecine guys do this all the time.

  Specs:

  I have all the media here on drives, it’s 720P 29.97, and will work in FCP 7.0.3 – I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 on 2009 Macbook Pro 4GBHD and 2.8Ghz Dual Core Processor. (Client has more or less the same Mac and fast connection).

  You both connect by iChat. And then you use the SHARE DESKTOP option. Or, you can use iCHAT THEATRE to send them your video signal (canvas) to them full screen.
