  FCP 6: Log and Capture Problems – Canon XL H1 not recognized as firewire device

  Hello all,

  I filmed some b-roll using a Canon XL H1. After connecting the camera via firewire to my Macbook Pro, booting up FCP 6, and selecting opening the log and capture interface, I am unable to get FCP to recognize the camera as a firewire device for capture. I am at a loss. In Audio/Video settings, I have selected a capture preset of HDV, and the device control preset is set to Firwire. I have followed the instructions in the camera manual for connection, but alas no dice. FCP will not recognize the camera as a firewire device for log and capture. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
