  Mixing Canon 5D Mark II footage with Nikon D7000

  I must admit to being a bit of a novice so I’d appreciate advice on this question.

  Halfway through shooting a video project my Nikon D7000 broke (perhaps a blessing in disguise!) I have now replaced the camera with one much better for the job – Canon 5D Mark II.

  My question is this…

  I am using Final Cut Pro X to mix the film. I started the project with auto import settings for the Nikon in my project library but when I import the Canon footage (different event but same project) to this same project my sliding camera movements are choppy. I suppose this has much to do with transcoding.

  Can anyone suggest a way to mix these two types of footage into one happy, seamless and beautiful film?

  Were the cameras shooting on the same frame rate?

  Thanks for trying to help. You were right – it was the frame rates. I ended up using compressor to change my Nikon D7000 24fps (23.98 fps) to 30fps (29.97 fps). It worked for me and now my slider shots are smooth and crisp.
