  How do you upscale 1920x1080p to DPX 2K ?

  I dont know if anybody here tried it, but im thinking of upscaling 1920X1080p footage up to DPX 2K resolution for FILM (negative) transfer. I think upscaling to 4K would be choppy, if anyone has experience about this kindly mention. I need to know the final cut studio & other necessary program workflow for film output & D-cinema (edit, cgi, dpx upscale, xml, edl, color grade & final output).

  Please enlighten me…

  Color can upscale and make DPX files, even if you are not grading in Color. Just send to Color and set Color to output the size and format (plus handles).

  However, Final Cut pro can online in 2k so I would upscale the grade in Color to 2K ProRes HQ and then online in FCP. The final output quicktime can then be converted to DPX, either by Color or AJA have conversion software.
