Guys, I’ve gone and done it. I’m so used to editing for the web, that I spent two months editing a 2-DVD series without regard to title-safe areas. Now the edges of the video are off throughout the entire thing.

The second issue is regarding the aspect ratio, etc. It looks fine on the widescreen TVs, but when I put it on the 27″ CRT tv, it stretches the height to fill the screen there, too.

Is there a quick way to fix either of those issues? Many thanks!!

Sorry there is no one click fix.. The quick fix is to redo the tiles so they are within title safe. FCP, Live Type and Motion have safe title guides.

To fix aspect ratio problem on crt set tv to normal mode not widescreen.

Quick fix to make things TITLE SAFE? Nope…you have to turn on your SAFE GUIDES and fix all of that manually.

Not sure what the cause of ISSUE 2 is…

    +1 (to Chris)
Older 4:3 CRTs may not not even recognize the anamorphic flag, so either it would be a manual switch or you’d need a letterboxed version for it to show it right.

    Prob#2:

How is it flagged in your DVD authoring program?
That will tell it to play letterboxed on a 4×3 screen.
