  Can I Connect Camera TO External Drive & Capture Footage?

  I have a Sony HDV 1080i Camera (HVRZ1U).
  I only have the cord that goes from my camera to a Firewire.
  Unfortunately my iMAC only has USB & USB-800.
  I don’t have an adapter, but I do have a BUFFALO one-terabyte hard drive that has a Firewire & USB-800 on the back of it. I was hoping to be able to plug my camera into the back of the hard drive and then plug the hard drive into the computer and capture that way. Is this possible? And if so, how?

  I’d really appreciate a response or any help at all, thank you very much!

  Typo aside, you need 8 pin to 6 pin FireWire adapter to plug your camera. You can’t plug it through another device.
