How do I convert HD footage shot at 29fps in order to edit it alongside 24fps footage?
I pretty new to ‘involved’ editing, so please excuse me if this question is simplistic or redundant. So here goes…
I mistakenly shot some important footage at 29fps with my new Canon 60D (which I meant to shoot at the much prettier 24 fps) which I need to edit alongside some that I shot at 24fps. I know if I throw these on the same timeline things wont go well.
What do you suggest? Convert the 29fps to 24fps or will it end up looking motion blurred?

If you convert 30 to 24 you need to trash 6 frames.
That can’t be done without serious rendering, and even then, the result won’t be as good as the original.
Converting 24 to 30 is way easier with added pulldown.
Look that up, and, keep in mind that for this you don’t want advanced pulldown, but normal!What is it with people think 24 looks better than 30?
30 has 6 frames more, that is better. Way less strobing image.Bouke

Just drop your 30p clip into the sequence where you are editing the 24p.
