true 24p won’t transfer as anything but 29.97
hi, I’m transferring clips from the Canon Vixia HF G10 shot in “true” 24p and can’t seem to get the clips to transfer at anything but 29.97. I’ve tried making a new “easy setup” and changing the preferences in the log & transfer window but it doesn’t seem to matter what settings I choose. I’d like to have the footage come in at 23.98 and edit it on a 23.98 timeline. Thanks for your help.

are you sure its “true”
I don’t think the vixia shoots in 24p advanced.
try removing pull down with cinema-tools but again, your video is likely not 24p but 24p wrapped in 29.97 format.

Canon says it is true native 24p (there is an additional setting that’s 24p recorded at 60i but I used the Native 24p mode). Supposedly the pull-down was removed when the files were transferred (there’s a check-box in the transfer preferences) – I’ll try using cinema tools to remove it, see if it got removed the first time. Thanks.
