  Problems importing DNxHD into Final Cut

  Hi everyone,

  So here’s the sitch: a rendered and exported .mov with AVdn, Linear PCM timecode codec was created on AVID and transfered to my macbook pro. It’s 1080p and I have FInal Cut V6.0.5 and for some reason everytime I try and import I get the error message: “File Error: (1) file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown”. I wasn’t the one who exported the original but I really like the image quality when it plays in the quicktime player. It’s for my cinematography reel so image quality and color is of the upmost importance. Any advice would be splendid.

  Transcode to ProRes in Compressor.

  DNXHD is not good for use within FCP?

  Well, it works sometimes, but not ALL the time. If you want to use the footage in FCP, best to convert it. DNxHD isn’t real time in FCP.

  Compressor won’t even accept it for me to transcode. I get an “error trying to open source media file.” Any other ideas? Thanks!
