Can someone explain the audio mixer thats included in FCP? I just shot a concert last night and I have the audio feed I was getting from the board on Channel 1 & 2. Channel 3 & 4 has shot gun microphone. I was shooting with the Panasonic HVX200 and I was surprised to see that it recorded 4 channels of audio I had it set up to just take a LINE IN feed from the board on 1 & 2. At any rate I need to pot down Ch. 3 & 4 so I can just hear the good audio and they keep slowly creeping back up on their own! Is there anything I can do to stop Ch 3 & 4 from doing that? I DO need the audio for room noise and crowd applause and that sort of thing. It almost feels like the mixer is in automatic mode and not manual mode. If I lower Ch1 & 2 they stay low till I make another adjustment but the other 2 channels do what they want.

    Your thoughts…

Sounds like you might have keyframe audio enabled. Try disabling that. It’s in the top right corner of the mixer. Then you should be able to make a full level adjustment. You can also go to modify, levels, and make an absolute change of you audio levels.
