  • Combining Masks + Keying on one layer… pro’s needed

    Hello,

    I’ve encountered this problem:

I have a layer which is a video, of which I masked 2 certain areas with two masks. So these areas went transparent, I put another video layer below and got what I wanted. However, there’s another thing:
The first video layer’s background is some whitish-grey shade and I managed to key it using the Color Key. Now what I need is that another video, a 3rd, will show up at the first layer background which I keyed out. The problem is that only one video layer will show up through the masks and the key area, only the one that’s beneath. The first layer which is at the bottom stays out of the picture.

I hope my explanation was clear, in another words I just need to combine 3 videos so two of them show up at the top layer with masks and keying…

I tried many options but no idea, I need this for some project which is due quite soon…

    Aharon? anyone?

No idea what your comps look like.
Render each of the layers separately and reimport each as finished movies with transparency.
    Or learn how to precompose/nest.

This is not a question for the professionals. In a few hundred more hours of working in AE you’ll be amazed at how simple this was.
