How do i see a client monitor with Avid Mojo?

Hi
I use AFX 7.0 and Avid Xpress Pro 5.6 on the same machine. The driver for the Avid Mojo to work with the client monitor is not compatible with being able to see AFX on the client monitor. Any idea how i can fix this problem?

my system is as follows:
Dell 670
3 Gb RAM
Windows XP – Service Pack2
NVIDIA Quadro FX 3400/4000
Avid Xpress Pro – 5.6.6
Mojo version 1
After Effects 7.0

i would probably look on the avid site or at least the avid forum too… but i think there was a plugin that was needed from avid for external viewing on the mojo thru ae.

I think that there is a separate plugin called Avid EMP (external monitor preview) on the Avid installation CD (check the “goodies” folder) that enables AE preview via the Mojo.
The major side effect (at least from a while back when I was using it) is that you can not have Avid and AE open at the same time without some really bad behavior from the Avid.

I have installed the EMP driver in the AE Support files folder – still no joy! It says i must say i am in the USA when installing – and i can only select IEEE 1394 NTSC – will that effect what goes to my monitor? I can see the Mojo logo on the monitor but it does not seem to have any reaction to any AE activity

Not sure…I haven’t used it in a very long time since I didn’t find it too useful in my workflow.
Mojo is connected to the system via firewire…I can’t remember if there was another option listed in the video preview option in AE after installing the plug in.

when you go to the video preview preferences in ae, what are the choices…

Preview Prefs in AE:-

Output Device – IEEE 1394 (OCHI CCompliant) or Computer monitor only

Output mode – IEEE 1394 NTSC (no other choices)

Output Quality – Faster or More Acurate

Output During (check boxes) Previews, Mirror on computer monitor, Interactions, Renders

Video Monitor Aspect Ratio – Standar 4×3 or Widescreen 16×9

Check box – Scale and letterbox output to fit monitor

My monitor is PAL – would this be the problem? I dont think so as i cannot see anything at all on the monitor – just the Mojo logo

well, the best i can offer you is to try avid’s forum… i would try searching mojo emp problems.. sorry, i can’t offer more.

in the manual AVID said that you first have
to uninstall the AVID – then install the emp and
the AVID again – crazy
