  What adapter do I need for my Dell and MBP

  hey guys
  I just got a dell monitor to set up as a second for editing. i believe this end is called a dvi but i am not sure so I am attaching a link of the picture. anyway, i have the newer macbook pro (not the thunderbolt version but the one right before it). its the 2.53 i7 15inch. what type of adapter do i need to be able to use the dell with it?

  the exact dell monitor i got (which is a 23 not 24 like i thought) is: U2311H 23 inch Flat Panel Display https://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=corp&sku=320-9270

  Hi Jared,

  The adapter you need is a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, linked below:

  Make sure to adjust the display settings on your computer after you connect your adapter (to balance the color, etc…).
