I’ve yet to receive my DW DVD but I was curious about running the rebuild on the system drive via a cloned system drive. I’m assuming I can set the clone temporarily as my start up drive and then run a rebuild on my system drive from that clone. Any problems with that logic?

That’s perfectly fine. It will actually run faster from a hard drive then from a DVD anyway.

Simply sold down the option key when booting up and choose what you want to boot from.

FYI this question has nothing to do with FCP so it really does not belong on the FCP forum. It is better suited for the OSX forum.

That logic holds up. It should work perfectly. I personally have an external drive with a basic OS installation with DW and other troubleshooting tools. Plug that in, boot from that drive and DW your system drive. That’s all.

Note that you shouldn’t do this with pre-10.3 Mac OS installations. Not that much of an issue anymore, mind you…

Thanks for the info. I know it was a little off topic but this was the forum I first learned about DiskWarrior from and it seems to be in a lot of FCP users toolkits.
