  Video Processing

  Hi Guys,

  I am doing an offline for a short film that was shot on the RED One. The DP converted the clips into Prores HQ files and shoved them on a hard drive for me.
  Now, is it worth setting the Video Processing to ‘Render 10-bit material in high-precision YUV” or am I better off just setting it to 8-bit YUV?

  Hi Farrokh,
  If your sequence is Prores, by default the render is set to 10b.
  Should be like that.
  If you render Prores at 8b YUV, you crunch the quality of the picture, but not the file size.
  You’d get something like DV50, enveloped on a 10b file.

  If it’s an offline, then no reason to go high precision, right? You’ll be conforming to the R3Ds later and coloring those, correct?
