    Greets!

I have about 50 stock video clips a friends wants to use in a presentation for school.

This file sizes are 640×360 px @ 30 fps.

My question is, am I able to create a project based off of these specs and out a quality .mov @ 640×360?

What is the final output? If you are making a DVD, I would make a standard 720X480 timeline. When you drag the clips in there it will letterbox with the black bars on top and bottom. This will make sure it plays back fine on whatever TV or projector it plays back on.

If you know it will play back on a wide screen TV you can edit in anamorphic (just be sure that when you go to DVD Studio Pro that you make sure the wide screen option is checked in the timeline there). Just make sure you test it before you play it for the class.

    Hope that helps,
    Jeff

Final output will be a web based QT time @ 640×360. I am not exceeding my stock video dimensions, so my question is… will I have quality issues exporting a 640×360 QT video for web – from a project sized based off of 640×360 dimensions?

No, you had the right idea then. Just drag your footage into the timeline and FCP will set up the project for you.
