    That will depends on what kind of stuff you want to stock.
    If it is footage or movies that will be further processed, you need to store with the less compressed format you can afford and you may use the Blue-ray for as data disks.
    If the stuff won’t suffer further processing and you want to archive for high quality display or distribution, H264 is the codec. With the H264/.mov you can build self-playable BR disks (you will meed to author the disk) or archive them as data-disks too.

    I just want to back up .mov files from the SDHC cards from my camera.
    I should be able to put 25 gigs per Blu Ray disc

    You need an external recorder and Toast.
    Select Data BR, drag and drop.
