  Audio export issues

  Hi all

  Just having some audio issues with exporting my final cut pro file. I have a high quality mp3 (256kbps) which when exported as a mov using the default setting (file, export, quick time movie) is fine. However, using the same export method when I use fade ins, fade outs the quality degrades significantly.

  Does anyone know how i can preserve this audio quality while still using fade ins and outs (I use the pen tool if that helps) Is there another setting which doesnt compress the audio at all? The audio always seems fine when previewing in Final Cut, it’s just on the export that problems seem to happen.

  Any help is much appreciated!

  I’m not sure if this will solve the problem, but you should always use audio files that are 16-bit 48KHz .aif files in FCP. Not MP3 files.

  There’s a compressor preset to convert your audio to 48/16. Use that, and then everything should be fine.
