  Making EDL’s

  Hi guys,

  I’m trying to create some EDL’s in FCP. I’m more familiar with Avid so I’m trying to wrap my head around it.

  1. Should I create a new sequence for each video track and make an EDL for each track or is there a simple way of telling the EDL tool which track I want?

  2, To create the Audio EDL’s do I strip off the Video in the sequence and then create several EDL’s 4 tracks at a time. ie. 1-4, 5-8, and 9-12?

  The connector tab. That little “v1” thing you see on the timeline, You drag that to the video track you want to export the EDL. So for EDL1…have on V1. For EDL2…drag to V2.

  Also, make sure to select the “export target video track only” option in the EDL options window for this to work properly.
