    Hello Creative Cows,

My name is Stan and I am kind of new to Final Cut, some help would be greatly appreciated.

    The issue:
I have footage that I converted to Apple ProRes (HQ) in order to edit easier. Every time I put text or some graphic (with transparent background) the color of the video changes slightly on export, meaning when I watch it and the part where the graphic is overlaid, the background gets slightly lighter and whenever the graphic passes it returns to normal. It looks fine whenever I preview it in Final Cut, it only shows up on the output file.

If anybody has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

    Stan

Try exporting a self contained movie using current settings, then compress that if the shift doesn’t show up. What codec are you exporting to?

    Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the quick reply. Actually that might be the problem because I’ve been exporting reference movies since it is not the the final deliverable yet.

I’ll give it a go and report back.

The codec is Apple ProRes (HQ) by the way.

    Once again, Thank You!

    Hey Jerry,

That’s exactly what the problem was.

Thank You very much for the help!
