Hi, I’m trying to move my footage over to DVD, when i playback on the camera itself, playback is fine and when I plug it into a HD TV its is fine as well, but processing the file itself comes up distorted on a mac, and on the viewer in Final Cut, is there anyway i can resolve this?

The Camera is a Sony HDR CX115 (Group 10 SDcard)
Both SD and HD files are doing the same.

My final cut knowledge isnt exactly professional, but any help is greatly appreciated

    Sam.

    Hi Sam,

What kind of files do you use? Maybe the problem is the wrong pixel aspect ration. When you drop a file from the browser to the Timeline the FCP ask you “Do you want to change the sequence settings?” (If it is not the sam as the file what you wanna use). If you click “OK” than it should be okay.

Do you use 16:9 or 4:3 footage?

codec of the camera is not compatible with editing in FCP, you need to transcode them to ProRes, many many post about how to do that.
