  FCS3 workflow

  Hi Guys
  I usually just use FCP to do everything creative wise. I now want to use other apps like Motion for text and Color for grading. I don’t really understand the workflow.
  As an example I am editing in Apple ProRes 422 HQ and intend to add text in Motion and color grade in Color, then I need to convert the edit into a high quality output file.

  Well…then time to learn Motion and time to learn Color.

  For motion, I recommend this DVD by a master of Motion:

  For Color, something by Walter Biscardi, who’s a leader here on the Cow:

  Your exactly right. I’ll look into these tutorials.
  I intend to learn these apps as I go along in this project.
  I should have been a tad more specific my question.
  My concern is – Can i do all my stuff in these apps at prores 422, then do my output in other formats such as h.264 after without worry?

  Of COURSE you can work in ProRes 422…it’s an Apple codec, and these are all Apple apps.

  You can convert to any delivery codec you need to, whether it should be h264 depends on what you are doing.
