  • Trying to get a .m2ts file converted for FCP

    Hi Everyone –

I did a shoot on a digital Sony camera and someone sent me all the footage burned onto a DVD. All the files open and play with no problem on his PC. He uses Sony Vegas. However, when I try to import these files into FCP, FCP doesn’t recognize them at all (nor does any program on my Mac recognize them). All of these files end in .m2ts format. When I try to open it using FCP a window comes up saying File Error: Wrong Type.

Does anyone know if there is a way to convert these files into something that FCP recognizes or a program I can download that will convert them to a format that works on FCP? Or is there something in FCP I need to change to get them recognizable?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks!
