Reconnect Sequence from Color to Original Uncolored Clips
Is there a way to reconnect a sequence received back from Color to the original uncolored clips?
We had a client ask for tweaks to the edit after color. These were made with the colored footage (probably an error in hindsight). Now they want to go back to something closer to the original, natural color.
We’d like to reconnect and take it back into Color. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

He does, but they made the changes to the one returned from Color.

I just had a quick try with EDLs which might work for you.
1. Go to your edited sequence (with clips from color) and export an EDL, but make sure that you select export clip names as opposed to filenames: as per picture
2. Now import that EDL and it should create a new sequence with all the media offline. Select all you media and reconnect it to your original clips.

Even if you have made edit tweaks, you can reopen the original Color project and make changes as the new edit is correctly linked to the render files from Color.
So make the changes in the original Color project and the changes will turn up in both the original send from Color and the re-edited sequence. It is always a great idea to render Color projects with decent handles so that edit tweaks or extending dissolves/ fades is possible.
