  FCP to Soundtrack Roundtrip not working

  Hey all, wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this problem and if anyone my have found a solution.

  I am editing a short video with sequence settings (960×720, 23.98, ProRes 422) FCP version 7.0.3, Soundtrack version 3.0.1

  My first bit of trouble occurred when I: Right clicked > Send to > Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project and encountered the “the render.mov file cannot be opened.” warning. I dumped my preferences and re-rendered the timeline and after some trouble was able to get the audio file to finally open in Soundtrack.

  The second problem occurred after I applied my effects within Soundtrack, saved the file (reference source audio), and went back into FCP. Final Cut crashed immediately with this problem report:

  I have set and reset my project settings in Soundtrack to reflect the 23.98 sequence. Trashed preferences in Soundtrack and FCP several times. Re-installed Soundtrack. Dumped any and all 3rd party audio filters. Moved my FCP sequence into a new project and nothing seems to work.

  Any ideas? Is this a fps issue like I think it is? Do I have a corrupt file somewhere?

  Whilst the error report suggests a frame rate problem, 920 x 720 is an unusual frame size. Just to try, chcange Easy Setup to 1920 x 1080 ProRes422 23.98. Copy>paste just the audio into the timeline. Try an export to STP from a bog standard 23.98 timeline without the added complication of pics.

  I will definitely try a different sequence setting once this message “The document “render.mov” could not be opened.” stops popping up.

  Just an update. I am now confident the problem is not with Soundtrack but with FCP. I opened another project that has the same settings, sent out to soundtrack and round-tripped with no issues.

  I think there must be an issue with a clip within the timeline.

  I even exported an XML and re-imported into a brand new project and still had FCP crash.

  Not sure it is worth going through the sequence clip by clip to find the problem.
