I have FCP7 running on a new 8 core tower.

RUnning off an internal 7200 HD.( not system drive)

    12 gig ram

    Snow leopard.

ProRez 422 at 24p 1080 is bogging me down.

    I get constant dropped frames.

I am editing web video from a transcoded DSLR shoot. Intended use is YouTube, so quality is not as critical as most jobs, but still I need a good picture.

Can you think of a lower bandwidth codec you think I should use?

    thanks!

ProRes LT is good for web footage and kinder on the hard drive. You can download free drive speed tests from AJA or Blackmagic.
