  Dell U2410 vs. HP LP2475w for FCP

  Greetings all,

  I’m about to upgrade monitors, and was hoping to get some insightful input — ergo I come to Creative Cow.

  I do small independent film and visual effects, and until recently have worked solely in film. I now have a couple Canon 7Ds that I shoot with cine lenses. Using FCP and Color, et al.

  Looks like the two candidates, (outside of Apple Cinema Display) are:

  Dell U2410 Ultra Sharp

  and

  HP LP2475w

  Both look terrific — was just wondering if anyone has had experience with one over the other. As a caveat, my choice is narrowed as I’m running G5s and must have DVI connection.

  I have two of the Dells. They are great for editing, but not good enough for color correction, you really need a standalone Pro monitor for accurate color grading.

  Yeah, I’ve got a Sony PVM 20l5 for color. Just need the monitors for editing. I read somewhere that the HPs shipped with Avid systems.
