  • NTSC DVcam capture – sometimes bars added, sometimes not?

I have been capturing NTSC footage from DVCAM tapes. I’ve done four captures now, all using the DV-NTSC capture preset. They have come out with black bars on the top and bottom (as I suppose it should..to be widescreen format?)

However I have just captured another, and for some reason (same format..) it stretched the image to fill the whole frame.

Any idea what might have caused this considering I didn’t change any settings? And how should I re-capture in the same way as the other clips, i.e. with bars, widescreen?

Pics attached here to show difference.

The top picture shows Anamorphic stuff on a 4×3 sequence.
The second picture shows 4×3 (maybe Anamorphic footage not recognized as Anamorphic) on a 4x3sequence.
What is supposed you are editing, 16×9 footage?
    Mixed 4×3 with 16×9?
Do the pictures look distorted on the Viewer?
