Importing Stills Longer than Two Minutes
Hiya,
I’ve got a tiff with an alpha channel I’d like to import to use as a bug. The default import for a still (it seems) is 00:02:10:00. Is there a way to tell FCP to generate a longer duration or another way of extending this for the full duration of my sequence without having to overwrite it multiple times?

Hi Martin,
Double click the still to open it in the Viewer, and change the duration there: on the left corner box.

Change still duration in the preferences.
All stills you import AFTER will have that default length. -

User Preferences>Editing>Stills/Freeze Frame Duration appears to be just for setting the marks in and out on a freeze frames. For example, it’s default setting is 10:00 and if I freeze a clip I get a 2 minute freeze frame with a ten second in to out.
Am I looking at the wrong setting Paul?
