TWIXTOR 5 in FCP
I just installed the plugin twixtor pro 5, and I’m having some problems… (I have FCP 6.0.6)
When I change the speed in the filter tab, in the twixtor plugin itself, the size of the clip in the timeline doesn’t change.
I.e: If I change the speed to 50%, the clip in the timeline does not double in size, it stays the same and I cannot drag the clip out to make it longer.
Similarly when I change the speed to 200% the clip does not shrink in size, half the clip is just black.Does anyone know of this problem? Otherwise the effect looks great when rendered, but due to this problem, I can’t use it.

You should read the manual, but in FCP it’s tricky. For slowing down, you have to nest the clips in a new sequence to make up for the gain in duration as plug ins aren’t allowed to change the duration of the clip in FCP.

If you have spent a bunch of money buying the best retiming plugin for FC, spend a bit of time reading the manual.

You have to lay the clip you want to correct in the timeline in it’s corrected size – the effect won’t ripple the timeline for you.
For example – you have a 2″ clip that you want to slow down by half – then put 4″ of the clip in the timeline. You want to speed up the clip to twice as fast – then put a 1″ clip in the timeline.
