In the settings, choose set naming options, then choose add file type extension box (or type in the custom one if you want).

In the batch export settings, dude.

You select the batch export, hit settings and the click the add file extension type. Take less than a second. You don’t just accept the default export settings, do you?

As a matter of fact yes I do accept the default. We have clients that request multiple formats, wmv mp4 etc etc. I use another program for that. I guess I want that to be selected all the time.

Well take a second to add the file type extrension you want by hitting one more button.

ANd you can also set a custom destination too.

There is also software available to batch rename a folder of converted files and add the .mov extension. Whilst I agree that there should be a way of saving your favourite setting as a default and not just accepting the uneditable system default, a lot of Mac software seems to lack this feature. I guess it is part of the strategy to make the system fairly bullet proof (read idiot proof) and stop fiddlers.

For pro users this is frustrating but complain to Apple if you want it different. Every week someone asks can they set the defaults for quicktime conversion rather than have to reset the fixed defaults every time. Same problem.
