  • Final Cut multicamera from timeline?

    Hi!

This is my first time posting here. I really need some help.
I know and have done multicamera editing before.

Thing is the footage I have right now is from 3 different cameras, 1 of which was constantly recording and stopping, recording then stopping, and so on…

I have finally managed to correctly align all three cameras (3 video-tracks) in the timeline. Is there any way I can select the aligned blocks on the timeline and create a multiclip from them? Kind of like how you do it in Sony Vegas…

Thanks for reading! Hope someone can help.

    Chico.

Sure, export each track as a self contained QT movie, then use those files for each of your cameras. Where they have no video, black will be inserted. Turn off the green visibility lights of the tracks to not export them…. leave just the one on that you’re exporting.

But if you recorded same timecode to all 3 cams, and provided they are all same codec, you could have gone straight to sequence multiclip… or am I missing something?

That’s the problem… no matching timecode used in the shoot… otherwise he wouldn’t have had to sync them in the first place seems to me. But ya never know, maybe they did sync the TC, but don’t think this happened.
