mce internal blu ray
I have a new Mac Pro 8 core OS snow leopard and installed a new MCE 12X internal blu ray burner so I can finally make blu ray HD content on projects I shoot in HD.
I have compressor 3.5.3, FCP 7, and DVD studio pro 4.2.2 – all the latest.
I have followed apple pro trainer series for compressor and DVD studio pro talking aboyt making bu rays and after much trial and error made my first blu rays and they look great.
But the only way to burn the DVD is to manually push shut their drive. The drop down arrow for my SD and HD optical drives work but not when I am asked to interest media into the HD. I do but the open drawer for the DVD says “open” when it should say “close”.
I called MCE and they said just to push shut the drawer which I will do but it seems odd. I am wondering if everyone has this problem using my setup (and I know you are out there!) or I am doing something wrong or is the MCE internal blu ray 12x burners are not really smoothly compatible with FCP, compressor, and DVD studio pro as MCE claims. They told me no one has this problem as far as they know.

I don’t have direct experience with that drive, however if they say it’s not normal, try reinstalling the drivers for the Blu-Ray drive.
