  • FCP7: change frame size within timeline-quick fix

Posted by Adam Chesbrough on October 22, 2010 at 4:20 pm

I have 1080 prores (LT) footage, for some reason when I added the first clip to the timeline it changed the timeline and clip frame size to 1440×1080 and prores 422. If I change the setting to 1920×1080 the clips that are already on the timeline remain 1440×1080.
All new footage inserted is 1920×1080, but I can’t simply reconnect and have the frame size change. I am looking for a one click fix as I have a ton of clips organized in different folders. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Is is just an aspect ratio change? You should be able to highlight all the clips within that time line, right click, and choose remove attributes. Then check only the distort and motion boxes.

That will remove the auto re size that FCP had originally done.
