  • FCP crashing during playback at the same spot

    Hello
I’m working on FCP 7. I use the same 2 cameras and recording device for a year now so no funny stuff coming from somewhere. Nothing new.

I have a 23 minute TV video and during playback there is an exact spot that FC crashes every time. Sometimes it tells me the hard drives are too slow.

This happens to me once a month or so. I usually find its because of audio corruption. Not sure this time. I thrashed preferences and all the usual things to avoid this but nothing works.

it is fine up to this area and beyond this 10 second area.

I have a mac pro 2.6 8 core with most of everything on internal hard drives.

Once drive is 5400 rpm. Didn’t bother it before.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Regards,

Hi Steve, do you have a speed change or nested sequence in the timeline ? When I encounter such problem, it’s usually some clip that was not rendered or a speed change on HD footage.
If it’s a speed change issue, the quickest way is to render that portion out and replace it with the new sped up clip ( do take care to change it back for

No there is not speed change. Actually I have gone over these spots many times with no issues. Then maybe 10 times later it happens with no changes. The only way to fix it was to take the section out then put it back in a new sequence copy. Its like the timeline connection to the real file is corrupt. Thats the only way I can describe it.
