Using final cut pro, motion, and color to make a animated color morphing effect.
Alright I saw a music video that had a really cool color effect in it. I looked all over online to see if I could find out what the color effect is called and how to do it and i came up with nothing. I was wondering if anyone knew what the effect was called and also how to do it. Also i was wondering if it is possible to create the effect using fcp, motion, and color.

That’s done frame by frame…do doubt in Photoshop. Exported out of FCP as an image sequence, then those sections animated…drawn on frame by frame in photoshop. Then exported back. But I also hear that the new PS has a movie mode…so it might take in the QT movie.

Actually, that would typically be done frame by frame in a compositing program with a paint module, like Combustion, After Effects, Motion, etc. These apps are tailored for painting on video, unlike Photoshop, which is still an app essentially designed for stills, even though CS4 and CS5 have given it video support.
